IIPM & GIDF in association with GID club conducted ‘Love abounds’ on 14th February 2011. The event was organized keeping in mind the enthusiastic and passionate youth at IIPM. As Valentine’s is an annual commemoration of celebrating love and affection between two loving hearts, this year IIPM decided to give a new direction to the meaning of valentines day by celebrating and inviting the less fortunate children from age group 3-6 years of GIDF to campus on 14th February 2011. IIPM decided to make this day as memorable as possible .The main motive was to propagate the feeling of love and sensitivity in the hearts of our students for the children and help them know the other side of sharing love and joy by bringing a smile on a child’s face. This unique IIPM approach to the festival of love resulted in innovative games like Paired Musical chair & Painting Competition for the little children whereas the IIPMite’s participated in games like Frozen river, Love is Blind & Propose your valentine in Bollywood style & Paper dance competition, which took place in the IIPM cafeteria, beautifully decked with balloons, ribbons and streamers. It was exciting to hear the cheering of crowd getting louder and louder as every activity unfolded. Ravinder Nandal and Jasleen Saini were crowned as Mr. & Ms. Valentine of the day. The event was a huge hit as the entire IIPM fraternity played, rejoiced and swayed to the tunes of the best of Bollywood numbers with these innocent souls. Other than providing these acquitted minds with emotional support, IIPMite’s also provided these uncut diamonds with fabulous toys, interesting books, colourful clothes and mouth watering eats etc in the best possible manner one could. The student committee of GID club at IIPM showed their love for humanity by participating in the donation drive conducted a few days prior to Valentine’s Day , where they were asked to donate anything that they wished to. Section FE-1 was awarded the most philanthropic class as they had managed to get maximum gifts for the children ,followed by section FD1 ,FD2 & FE2. IIPM has always done things in its own unique way, something which others follow later, our celebration of Valentine’s Day, reaffirmed our reputation.
