Diwali Celebration

Diwali being a festival of lights was celebrated across all the centers. Children formed small groups and did activities like diya making, greetings etc. All the children took immense interest in all the activities and were also told the reason behind Diwali being the most important festival and were shown clips depicting Lord Rama, the children took active interest in all the activities and performed cultural shows also. Children thoroughly enjoyed the display of fireworks.
 
Delhi

Health Check Up

A general check up was held in all the centers of ECD in Delhi, where routine health check was carried out. Body weight, height, eyesight, dental check, etc were monitored and the problems were discussed with the parents and they were followed by prescription and cures.

Advocacy Meet

An advocacy meet was conducted on the targeted intervention group (TI Group) with the police personnels of Kashmiri Gate and Jama Masjid police station in which police personnels were sensitized on the issues of HIV / AIDS

AIDS Awareness Camp

A camp was held for testing and screening for HIV positive cases in which a lot of people, like the daily wagers, rickshaw pullers, coolies, street hawkers, MSM (Male having sex with male) candidates were screened and tested during the camp and counseling services were provided to the clientele.

This month the annual review of the TI Project, which is being implemented in the area of North Delhi for MSM category with support of DSACS (Delhi State AIDS Control Society) was undertaken in which our organization was ranked in A+ category. This is also to share that our project has now extended by 1 more year and the project intervention area has expanded: ISBT to New Delhi Railway Station.
Assam

Progress of 8 new SHG’s

In the month of October we promoted and included 8 new SHG’s, namely Swapna Saya, Rangdhali, Pragati, Rupahi, Jeuti, Milan Jyoti, Radhakrishna and Dibyajyoti in the villages of Gohain, Jamira Chutiatari, Jamira Barline and Madhupur. A sequel of meetings were carried out to make the members aware of the SHG concept and the way SHG’s function. The meetings turned out into group of enthusiastic members who were ready to form SHGs and put in the hard work.
Madhya Pradesh

SAKHI

This month 4 of our SHG’s (Ganesh, Mataji, Laxmi and Geeta) under the project SAKHI were ranked I in the grading system and they cleared the first level of grading conducted by NABARD and are now applicable for financial support with financial institutions and banks.
