Disaster Management
The world on 26th December 2004 witnessed one of the most horrifying natural disasters to strike mankind. Millions of people were affected by the disaster. The Foundation undertook a massive relief work in the state of Tamil Nadu, in the district of Nagapattinam and Cuddalore to provide immediate relief to the hundreds of people displaced by the Tsunami. Relief camps were set up and food and clothes were distributed. Special care was also taken for safe drinking water and medical camps were arranged to treat the injured.
The disaster had a major impact on the education system and a lot of schools were partially or completely destroyed by the tidal waves. The Foundation has built up a 3 classroom building which is benefiting more than 650 children from the adjoining villages of Periyakuppam of Cuddalore.
